Hey folks!
Thursday morning, I was up before 7:00. After eating my gummies and taking my prescriptions (I'm on an antibiotic for an upcoming oral surgery), Happy and I went for our morning walk in the neighborhood. I was in shorts and let me tell you, my legs must have tasted good because I was eaten up. When I got home, I first washed my legs and then I applied a wonderful cream that my sister gave me one time. That did away with the itching. It seems like it happens every morning. But it's ok because our Happy loves her ritual walk and she's the queen.
I needed to buy a vlogging stick for my You Tube channel and it being such a beautiful day, I decided to walk over to Best Buy, about a 20 minute walk. I happen to live by a business park, which is very beautiful and here was the entrance to the park as I walked towards my destination.
This neighborhood is home to a family of geese that live on a small lake, hidden in a wooded park. Many times, as I am either driving or walking, I will see them waddling around. There has been more than one occasion when cars would have to stop to let the family of geese waddle across the street. They are our neighborhood mascots!!
If you will notice, off to the right of the sidewalk, there is a trail leading into the woods where one will find a beautiful lake. And that is their home.
Well, I headed on over to Best Buy where I wasn't sure that they would have what I wanted but they did!! It was labeled at $17.00 and so I thought that was a great deal. I got to the counter and the lady told me: "Oh, sir, it was on the wrong shelf. It's REALLY $31.00. I bought it anyway!!
By this time, it was HOT outside and I was beginning to regret not having driven but I took my time and decided to have some lunch. On the way back, just across from The Best Western Gwinnett Center Hotel, is a wonderful Asian seafood restaurant, called East Pearl Seafood. I've eaten there several times and so I knew that it would be good. This video will give you wonderful sampling of what they offer.
I arrived there before the lunch traffic and I was glad for that, being seated right away. When I first arrived I thought they were closed because there was a bench in front of the door. All of the previous visits there, I entered through that door. But they had since remodeled and put the entrance door around the corner. The next two pictures will show you what you see as you enter.
They have two different dining rooms and I was taken into the back dining room with no wait. The staff there, is, and has always been, courteous with great customer service. But a word of warning: they have strong accents and you will have to listen very closely to them. But the tasty food makes it a small sacrifice.
They are well known for their delicious dim sum and they first brought a cart to my table with all kind of choices for me. I chose the BBQ pork. Yum, yum!!
Then she brought me out a menu and I decided on having a combination fried rice plate and WHAT a helping she brought me. It's my inclination to always try to finish the plate but I just couldn't. I had to leave some.
Then, the waitress came back and wanted to know what kind of soup I wanted but her accent was so strong that it took a few seconds to understand what she was asking me. She was wanting to know if I wanted spicy soup or regular and I ASSURED her that I wanted to have the regular. And here is what she brought me: a creamy egg noodle soup. It was very tasty.
As you can see, the decor is quiet colorful. All of this beautiful ambiance, tasty food and great service only costed me $12.00. I was pleased. If you are ever in the Atlanta suburb of Duluth, give them a try.
I wasn't so sure that I could make it back home with such a full stomach in that heat but I set out anyway. You may remember me mentioning the woods and the lake where I live. It's a popular walking and jogging area. I've encountered people as early as 6:00 in the morning, walking, as I was. Here were three people walking the trail as I headed home.
When I got home, I took a nap because that heat had exhausted me. And then, I spent the afternoon working on another website that I own. Later, I was treated to delicious spaghetti for dinner. A nice day.
