The Georgia Diner

Updated: Oct 22

I first learned about The Georgia Diner way back in 1999,when my beloved friend June (RIP) took me there. I had just moved to Atlanta and this was one of the first places I visited.

If I had a nickle for every late night cheeseburger that I have had there, I would be rich!! Below, is a picture of a chicken pot pie that I had one night, there. This restaurant has a very thick menu with everything from a hamburger to a steak, a giru to a southern meal, an omelette to a piece of cheese cake. It is a wonderful place and is a local landmark in the Duluth area.

And one slice of one of their cakes, will fill the whole plate!!

Over the years, I used this as a meeting place. I would meet my Spanish tutor there. I met an a man there one time to tell me about a business opportunity. I met my friend Juli and her family there when they were passing through. I met my cousin Grant and his family there when they were on their way to Florida. I met my friend Marty there, TWICE when he was in town. I even went there one night, late in the midnight hours, to sit uninterrupted and to do my taxes!!

I continued to go there even after I retired. I had sent many of my guests there and often, they would bring me something back, like this Cheesecake that someone brought me.

And so, last night, I ordered a delicious cheeseburger and fries from there through Door Dash and while it was expensive, it hit the spot. I was away from home and hungry and so I thought of them. I've been told that we are having delicious meatloaf tonight so Door Dash will just have to do without me.
